How to choose a private tour guide for your trip
Start with the visit you want, then choose a guide whose experience fits it. A strong match is more specific than a high rating: the guide needs the right language, available dates and a service that suits your group’s interests and pace. Read the biography as part of that decision.
Turn your interests into a useful search
Enter the city, dates, guide language and number of guests. The optional explore field searches guide biographies and included services. A term such as architecture or a named site narrows what you are looking for; it does not automatically add admission, create an itinerary or guarantee that a guide can provide that visit.
Read reviews with the service description
Compare the review count alongside the rating, and read the guide’s own description of their work. A new guide may have few reviews; a high rating from a small number of visits is not the same evidence as a larger history. Avoid assuming a profile proves specialist access or permissions that are not stated. Paid FINDAGU plans do not improve search ranking.
Check practical fit before requesting
Look at the tour type, group capacity, included hours and exclusions. Describe walking limits, family needs or a fixed ending time without putting private information in a public profile. For multi-day travel, confirm which days and services the rate covers. The published price is a basis for a request, not proof of availability until the guide accepts.
After confirmation
Contact details become available when the booking is confirmed. Agree the precise meeting point and keep your important service details with the booking. FINDAGU hides booking contact details 72 hours after the final tour day, so arrange any necessary follow-up before then. Do not depend on the app as a permanent address book.
